About Me.

Hello friends! I'm Ashley Baines, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified School Counselor currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at the CACREP-accredited Sam Houston State University. With over 15 years of experience in education and counseling, my focus extends to working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. My expertise encompasses treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, and grief.

Specializing in aiding marginalized children, teenagers, and adults, I address a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, grief, interpersonal conflicts, trauma-related symptoms, mood issues, and life transitions. My approach is rooted in person-centered therapy through a narrative lens, tailored to each client's unique needs. I firmly believe in the transformative power of personalized care and support.

In my practice, I utilize various tools such as relaxation techniques, mindfulness, grounding, probing questions, logic-based inquiries, and EMDR. My goal is to empower clients by fostering critical-thinking skills that enable them to navigate their emotional, sensory, and intellectual boundaries. Together, we embark on a journey towards self-awareness and thriving well within those boundaries.
